GUITARS GALORE!

In this course participants will listen to, discuss and view film of a wide variety of guitar music. Genres to be covered include jazz, blues, country, 1950s rock 'n' roll, folk, rock and world music.

Guitarists to be featured during this course include Duane Allman, Chet Atkins, Jeff Beck, Chuck Berry, Debashish Bhattacharya, Bob Brozman, Jimmy Bryant, Roy Buchanan, James Burton, Charlie Christian, Ronnie Earl, Tommy Emmanuel, Hank Garland, Davy Graham, Albert King, B.B. King, Freddie King, Sonny Landreth, Albert Lee, Blind Willie McTell, Hank Marvin (The Shadows), Bugs Henderson, Sol Hoopii, Robert Johnson, Harry Manx, Wes Montgomery, Scotty Moore, Les Paul, Django Reinhardt, Bonnie Raitt, Duke Robillard, Susan Tedeschi, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Richard Thompson, Ali Farka Toure, Derek Trucks and T-Bone Walker.

Term One of this course was conducted between February and May, but the contents of Term Two will be completely different. It is not be necessary to have attended Term One in order to enrol for Term Two.

Time/Location: Monday, 10am - noon, Room 3, Hughes Community Centre.

Dates: Term Two - 16 August 2010 to 29 November 2010 (14 sessions; no classes 27 September or 4 October due to school holidays).

Cost: Cost for Term Two will be $25, which covers room hire, morning tea and incidental costs (photocopying etc).
